Clarkson starts their rest of the season road trip on the wrong foot.
They lost to Brown by a similar score last year (5-3 or 5-4) in a similar
game where they trailed all night.

Goals:
Brown 1 3 1 5
Clarkson 1 2 1 4

Shots on goal:
Brown 10 10 11 31
Clarkson 12 10 12 34

Goalies: Brown- Haywood, Clarkson- Currie

Power-plays:
Brown: 1 for 9
Clarkson: 3 for 8 (it's a miracle!)

Scoring:

First Period
1. Brown, Hanley (Olczyk) :58
2. Clarkson, Conroy (Dubinsky) 12:26 (pp)

Second Period
3. Brown, Chase (Pogor, Beck) 11:04
4. Brown, Kaban (Jones, Brewer) 11:34
5. Clarkson, Marchant (Tuomainen, Sanderson) 12:45 (pp, 5 on 3)
6. Clarkson, Sanderson (Tavi, Thomas) 13:46 (pp)
7. Brown, Hanley (Chauvette, Ross) 19:49

Third Period
8. Brown, Pogor (Chauvette, Hanley) 11:50 (pp)
9. Clarkson, Thomas 12:44

Clarkson started off playing with a full contingent of players for the
first time since the Union game. Defensemen Henrich and Mueller and
forward Tuomainen were playing again. The later two had returned from
the Junior Worlds in Germany. Henrich was back from a shoulder injury.
He had played a couple times since Union but didn't make it past the
first period. Henrich left the bench 12 minutes or so in the first
period and took a power play shift in the second before heading back to
the dressing room. Henrich is having trouble with his knee now.

Brown came out quick and caught Clarkson flat footed at the start.
Hanley scored early and gave Brown the lead. Clarkson put things
together and started applying pressure. On their third power play
chance, Clarkson scored. Mueller had taken a shot from the point.
Dubinsky shot the rebound at Haywood two or three times before the puck
slid over to Conroy who put it into his empty side of the net.

Clarkson came out and played well in the second, pressuring Haywood who
was to have a good night. However, a turn over in the defensive zone
under Brown fore-checking, led to a Brown goal. Brown's quick forwards
stormed back and quickly made the score 3-1. Brown quickly slipped into
the Clarkson zone and caught Currie without any defensive help.
Clarkson got a break and went on a 5 on 3 power play that allowed them
to score a goal and get the tieing one before the second minor ran out.
Marchant redirect a big blast from Sanderson, who in turn came back with
his own on a one timer. Hanley was not done scoring as he added a goal
with 11 seconds left on a shot 20-25 out. Ross of Brown got into a
tangle with Clarkson goalie Currie that ended up with a double minor on
Currie and a 10 minute misconduct to Ross.

So instead of trying to get even, Clarkson spent the first four minutes
of the third period fending off the Brown power play. When Clarkson was
not a man down, they were pressuring Haywood. However Haywood was on
his toes and was playing very well. Kent Anderson didn't help the cause
any mid way through the period when he got called for a penalty. This
penalty led to Brown's game winning goal. Thomas tried to spark a
Clarkson come back when he scored unassisted on a big blast that beat
Haywood low. Clarkson pulled Currie with under two minutes to go for
the extra skater. Some extended pressure ended up with a pile up in
front of the Brown net. Ref Amian helped out Brown as he called
penalties against Dubinsky, Belanger and Torrey of Clarkson. Ross,
Hanley and O'Brien were penalized for Brown. All penalties were at
19:23. So it was 4 on 3 (+1) for the final :47 seconds. Clarkson had a
couple of good shots, but no go.

Tonight Clarkson plays first place Harvard.

This game should help Clarkson on TCHCR, and Maine too. :-)
