Dan offers a whole lot more than just his work ethic. If the team is
a little flat, just watch who is out there making a hard hit trying to
fire up the team. Check out who is in front of the net mucking it up,
causing confusion for the opposing defense. Who is in the corner
digging out the puck for the scorers that are floating in the slot?
Danny may not add a lot in the scoring column for this team, but he
does make the team better by what he does.

I think that Doug being the coach gave him a small advantage getting
on the team; he wasn't terribly sought after for Div I programs. But
now that everyone has seen the way that he plays I don't know of a lot
of coaches that wouldn't give him the same amount of ice time that
Doug does. Every team needs these players. Much could be said about
Zwackman. I don't have the points in front of me, but I would guess
that he was in the same range as Dan. But again, he plays his role on
the team and the team is better because of it. His job is not to
score points.

It would be nice if everyone could do everything out on the ice. Dig
in the corners and then score goals. But these players are very
special and don't come along very often. Before this year Bonin had
weaknesses in his game. He was never very physical before this year
and wouldn't come away from the boards with the puck. This creates
the need for players like Woog. Everyone needs 'em. Especially the
guys that pump the puck in the net.
