Wow.

I had to wonder if the Falcons were going to be able to correct one of
their other problems tonight when they allowed the fourth goal. To their
credit they showed something they had to demonstrate this season. The
ability to come back to win a tough game. They were not at their best
tonight. But they played well enough to claw and scrap their way to OT,
and to nail the critical game winner when it had to be done. This may
not have been the perfect game. But what will be remembered most by
these guys, will be that they can come back and beat somebody. As one of
the most respected regulars of section E observed following the game,
"This game was HUUUGE." (sic) There are times in sports when you see,
and know you have seen a defining moment. A hard fought victory, late
in a season that gives hope for the next season. The first win over an
arch rival, after years of losing. Seeing a great player leave the ice
for his last time. Well hyperbole aside, and not to blow this out of
proportion (The miricale on ice this was not), but at the end of the
season the last two games, ending with this key, come-from behind, OT
victory, could be the moments that define this season. This hopefully is
the spring board that vault the Falcons back into thick of the race.

Also of note, is that Miami, and Ferris State were marrs on the Falcons
record that they were eger to erase. Next up on the "Pay-back Series" is
Ohio State, which also cost us a game not so long ago. BG traditionally
shells the buckeyes at home. The first game I ever saw at BG was an 12-1
blow out of the first order. So long as the Falcons stay focused this
time, this game has the makings of long road trip for their buddies from
Value City. :)
