The traditional post-game handshake never finished its way down the line
at the Yale-Clarkson matchup Saturday night at the Whale, home
arena for the Yale Bulldogs, in which Clarkson shut out Yale 3-0.

Shoving and pushing between the two teams at the sound of the buzzer
halted long enough to line up for the good-sportsmanlike handshake; in
the line, however, Yale freshman Mark Turco said that Clarkson's John
Bartell "shook his hand, then wouldn't let go," according to Yale head
coach Tim Taylor. Flying fists and flailing arms all over the ice were
then stopped by the officials, as well as the presence on the ice of both
teams' head coaches.

Yale is now 2-2 (0-2 ECAC), getting swept by St. Lawrence and Clarkson
this past weekend.

St. Lawrence defeated Yale 7-2 on Friday night. In the loss to Clarkson,
Yale freshman goalie Alex Westlund made 45 saves. Against St. Lawrence,
Westlund had replaced Yale junior goalie Dan Choquette, who left the game
with a concussion after being hit in the face mask with the puck.

Yale's two wins came on a sweep of Air Force. Highlights included a 3-0
shutout for Choquette, and an 8-1 victory the next night, including a
four-assist game by Yale defenseman Ray Giroux -- all this despite
reports of sucking some serious wind during shifts at such air pressure.

Yale is away next weekend at Brown and Harvard.
