ENTRAL COLLEGIATE HOCKEY ASSOCIATION RECRUITS FOR 1995-96

Fifty players have committed to attend CCHA institutions for the 1995-96
season. Twenty-six Americans and 24 Canadians comprise the class of 1999.
Ontario and Michigan have the most players (11 and 10, respectively), followed
by Illinois (five), British Columbia (four) and New York (four). Five goalies
have been inked along with 12 defensemen and 33 forwards. The newcomers will
begin collegiate competition next October in the 25th year of the Central
Collegiate Hockey Association.

**-Editor's note -- There will be additional recruits, but their National
Letter of Intent has yet to be received by the institution.**

NEWS AND NOTES FROM AROUND THE CCHA: The University of Notre Dame recently
hired former UND player Dave Poulin to be the head coach of the Fighting Irish
hockey program. With Poulin's selection, there are now three former CCHA
players who are head coaches in the association (Larry Pedrie at UIC and Dave
Laurion at UAF) and 15 former CCHA players who are now coaches (head or
assistant) in the league. The CCHA has promoted Jeff Weiss, who has served as
administrative assistant and director of communications at the league office
since February 1988, to the newly created assistant commissioner position.
CCHA Council unanimously approved the CCHA coaches recommendation to move the
1996 CCHA Championship dates to Friday and Saturday, March 15-16. Friday's
semi-final games will be at 5:00 and 8:30 p.m., with Saturday's championship
