Well this is a day late, but I have the results of the poll I took that
asked; After a season with the shootout rule in HE do you think it should
be kept, or dropped?
 
I'd like to thank everyone that responded. A couple of folks suggested
that this was a good idea, but should offer voters a choice between this
and other alternatives.  This is a good point and I agree that would make
a better poll, however I think first the other options would need to be
fielded and then presented.  I don't have the energy for this, but if
someone else does I'll do my part and participate.
 
As Mike Machnik pointed out; don't expect this, or any other poll to
influence the powers that be.  I hope that Mike will see that they do
see this, or any poll like it, just so they know how at least a few
"College Hockey Nut Fans" feel. Mike seems to know how to contact these
folks and they seem to give him their ear.
 
I'm not sure how this compares to last years vote, but here it is:
 
        Respondents: 20
 
        Keep the shootout: 5  (25%)
 
        Do away with the shootout: 15  (75%)
