Either I missed the previous posting or there is still another former WCHA
player playing in the Olympics that you overlooked. He is defensemen Barry
Richter from Wisconsin. Since he is starting for Team USA, he's hard to
miss. I don't think Richter has scored any goals during the Winter Games
(please correct me if I'm wrong), but I saw him defintely get some strong
shots on goal.

If anyone doesn't know out there, Barry is the son of our athletic
director, Pat Richter. Pat, the former all-american wide reciever for the
Badgers (1963 Rose Bowl) and former LA Ram, single-handedly brought
Wisconsin sports back into the national spotlight with our 1994 Rose Bowl
appearance under Barry Alvarez and the rebirth of our basketball team under
former NY Knick coach, Stu Jackson.

Of course, the hockey team was always good. Hopefully, they won't hit
their Saturday jinx and will sweep the NMU Wildcats. This should make the
WCHA race much more interesting. And let's also hope that Team USA will
end up 1-0-3 after the game against Sweden today.
