DRYJOWICZ-BUREK HONORED BY MASCAC
BUZZARDS BAY, MA– Senior goaltender Jon Dryjowicz-Burek (Ludlow, MA/Springfield Jr. Falcons-EJHL) of the University of Massachusetts Dartmouth’s hockey team has been honored by the Massachusetts State College Athletic Conference. Dryjowicz-Burek has been named MASCAC Goaltender of the Week. It’s the third time this season that he has been so honored.
Dryjowicz-Burek made 53 saves and recorded two victories as UMass Dartmouth claimed fifth place in the final regular season MASCAC standings last week with 6-3 victories against Framingham State and first-place Fitchburg State. He made 31 saves against the Falcons, was named the game's third star, and helped lead the Corsairs to their first three-game winning streak of the season.
“Jon really has elevated his game in the last week and a half,” said UMass Dartmouth Head Coach John Rolli. “The third period against Fitchburg when he closed the door stopping all nine of their shots is a great was for him to end the regular season and open the playoffs.”
The Corsairs are 10-14-1 and will begin MASCAC playoff action when they visit Westfield State in a first round game Tuesday evening.
