For those who also might remember, Phil Comtois was also the goalie who
stepped in for John Fletcher in a game against first place Colgate in the
89-90 season. The game was huge for Clarkson seeing that they needed a win
to keep the heat on the Red Raiders. Well, early in the 2nd period, Colgate
scored a very controversial goal. It seemed that Fletcher was either knocked
down or fell to the ice and a Colgate player ended up on top of Fletcher.
Colgate proceeded to put the puck in the net, much to the dismay of the
entire capacity of Walker Arena. The ref (sorry, can't remember who it was)
made a non-call, thus allowing the goal. Fletcher then argued too much and
received a game misconduct. (Sounds like it might have been a Pierre-like
decision)

Anyway, Comtois came on to relieve Fletcher. IMHO, he played the rest of the
game as fantastic as anybody could seeing that he was thrust into that type
of pressure-filled situation. Colgate went on to win 5-3, but I'll never forget
the performance that Comtois put on that night. It's good to see that he's
still playing! (and very well at that!!)
