Michigan flat out dominated the Spartans. Please don't takes this as
gloating, but it was probably the biggest whipping the Spartan players
will endure in their career. I wouldn't begin to imagine the last time
MSU lost 11-1, and only registered 13 shots on goal.

Cheers to David Roberts for taking over the Michigan scoring lead with
6 points on the evening (1-5--6).

Jeers to Mark Ouimet for spearing an MSU player, resulting in a major
and disqualification for Ouimet, thus allowing Roberts to pass him in
the scoring race. Ouimet is having an outstanding season (All-CCHA?),
but he's delivered a couple of questionable blows against WMU and now
MSU. If he wanted to hit someone, he should have cold-cocked the
gutless UIC player that hit him from behind on Friday.

Cheers to Michigan backup goaltender Chris Gordon for playing his third
consecutive third period. Shields hasn't registered a complete game in
over two weeks (nor has he needed to). Also, cheers for Shields and
Gordon for outscoring the entire MSU offense on the evening, 2-1.

Jeers to MSU Captain and All-America/Hobey Baker candidate Bryan
Smolinski for being non-existent in a game which may cost the Spartans
an NC$$ berth.

Cheers to Michigan's Ryan Sittler for assisting on Dan Stiver's goal
late in the first period. At the time, Sittler was serving a one game
suspension for fighting in Friday's bout with UIC. [Who knows who the
assist really belongs to?]

Jeers for referee Brent Rutherford for showing his face in public
following his performance on Friday night.

Cheers for the Michigan State Brass for belting out 'Roll Out The
Barrel' after Michigan's 11th goal. The band had a much better night
than Ron Mason's troups did.
