Former University of Maine player Scott Pellerin, who won college
hockey's Hobey Baker award last year, scored his first NHL goal
Sunday night in his debut with the New Jersey Devils.
 
Pellerin also had an assist, at the 10:47 mark of the first per-
iod. His goal came while the Devils were on a power play with a
minute remaining in the game.
 
Pellerin played in 25 American Hockey League games for the Devils'
minor league team, Utica. At Utica, Pellerin had 11 goals and 17
assists in 25 games.
 
New Jersey defeated Buffalo Sunday 7-3 at Buffalo.
 
Pellerin had 106 goals and 117 assists in 167 games at Maine.
