There is a sizeable fraction of seats at every (well, at least most)
tournament games (NCAA and conference) in particular 2-game sessions
in which 4 teams are involved, that are unused by fans of one team
during the game that "their" team is not playing. Looks like empty
seats . . .
The GLI has 2 2-game sessions; the CCHA tournament has 6 teams
involved in 3 days . . .
But there are fans who want to see all games even if their team
isn't playing as well as those whose team is not in any game.
Then, as you point out - those who aren't going but won't give up
the tickets for fear of not getting them next when they might (or
might not) want to go.

This is a confusing message - eh? but then so is the situation.
