This afternoon at home the Ice Griffs took a solid win from visiting Mercyhurst, 4-2. Jeff Street, Todd Bowler, and Fred Coccimiglio each had a goal and an assist to help the Griffs.
Mercyhurst, down 3-zip through two periods, got a 4-on-4 early in the third, then picked up another goal with the goalie on the bench with 29 seconds to go in the game. No more good luck for the lakers, though, as Coccimiglio gets an empty net goal with 13 seconds remaining to complete the scoring.
Another nice win for Coach Cavanaugh, as the Ice Griffs move into a second place tie with Holy Cross.
