Rick (and others):
The Sanctioning body has changed how RPI and Pairwise are to be
computed this year. Details can be found at
        http://www.ncaa.org/news/2002/20020624/awide/3913n09.html
thanks to dan wolken of the colorado springs gazette for pointing this
out to me.

The details that impact the pairwise computation seem to be
The committee also spent time improving and changing the
selection criteria. The committee decided to alter the method
of selection slightly, eliminating a team's record in the last
16 games as one of the criteria. The committee also changed
the definition of teams under consideration from having a .500
won-lost percentage to having at least a .500 mark in the
        Rating Percentage Index.

and the details that impact the RPI calculations seem to be
Changed the weighting of the current Rating Percentage Index
(RPI) system. In the past, the RPI weighting was based on 35
percent winning percentage, 50 percent strength of schedule
and 15 percent opponents' strength of schedule. The group
voted to make the breakdown 25 percent winning percentage, 50
percent strength of schedule and 25 percent opponents'
        strength of schedule.

While a cursory glance seems to confirm you are doing the individual
calculations correctly, your weighted average seems to reflect the old
35, 50, 15 weights instead of the new ones.

If anybody is interested, I've included my calculations at the bottom

Teams can earn points for each of the following criteria:
  1. Head to head Competition (one point per game)
  2. Record against common opponents
  3. Record against teams under consideration
  4. Ratings percentage index

The record against teams
under consideration, the ratings percentage index, and
the number of pairwise comparisons won are listed above.

(for individual comparisons, subtract head to head record
from the overall 'being considered' record given above.)

The Ratings percentage index is used as a tiebreaker.

The total is calculated by the Rating Percentage Index method,
used as a tool by the NCAA in selecting teams for national
collegiate tournaments in several sports. Ratings are derived
by summing each team's winning percentage, the average winning
percentage of its opponents, and the average winning percentage
of its opponents' opponents, multiplied by the given weights.
Factors such as importance of game, margin of victory, or home
ice are not included in the calculations.
