Maine and Western Michigan skated to a 2-2 tie Saturday night in Kalamazoo.

Maine built leads of 1-0 and 2-1 early in the third, but were unable to
close the door as Western Michigan again proved their mettle and tied the game.

Maine continued to have trouble staying out of the penalty box and Western
Michigan made them pay again with another power play goal. Maine's Michael
Schutte received a major penalty for butt-ending in the third period and
also received a game disqualification -- meaning he will miss Maine's next
contest.

Western Michigan has made its case for Top-15 inclusion with wins over
Michigan the weekend before and taking 3 of 4 points from Maine. The
Broncos are now 3-2-1.

Maine is now 2-3-1 and will finally return home for just one game next
week. That's the good news, the bad news is that undefeated and red-hot
UMass-Lowell comes to town in Blaise MacDonald's first trip to Orono as
Riverhawk headman, and Maine coach Tim Whitehead's first game against his
old team.]

Niko Dimitrakos missed the game for Maine with a deep thigh bruise.
