Wow, that sounds ridiculous!

Many years ago, Pekin (IL) High School decided to change their mascot name
from the Chinks to the Dragons - ya gotta admit that was the probably the
right thing to do. However, a few years ago, another big controversy erupted
because of the following cheer:

"P-P-P-E-K,
K-K-K-I-N,
P-E-K, K-I-N,
Pekin, Pekin, Pekin!"

Someone had actually complained about the use of "K-K-K"! And the school
administration caved almost immediately!! However, I think cooler heads
eventually prevailed, and the admin reversed itself after realizing how
knee-jerk they had been.
