Actually--though this still doesn't profoundly shift the balance of number of
Division I schools in the WCHA when compared to that of other leagues--DU is
currently making the move to Division I and played its first year as a
"division one" school this year.
Whether they will truly ever compete among the ranks of established division I
teams remains to be determined.  Despite that they're our biggest "rivals", I
still would like to see them have success in their move.  (Even if I do think
the decision was probably not in the school's or the athletic program's best
interest.)
