Stanford fields an ACHA Division II team. I'll avoid the NCAA - ACHA
talent debate that has filled this space the last week or so, but
Stanford was good enough to squeak into the ACHA Division II
championships last year.

Speaking of Stanford hockey, this year the 8 Pac 10 schools that field
Division II club hockey teams (Arizona is Division I and either
Washington State or Oregon State, I forget which, doesn't field a team)
will begin a new "Pac 10" hockey league. It will be interesting to see
if the new format will help revive the college hockey interest on the
west coast (outside of the transplanted eastern school alums).
