Lowell nearly blew a three goal lead, but Hockey east player of the
year goalie Dwayne Roloson bailed them out in the last few minutes for the Chiefs
to escape with a 4-2 win.

The Chiefs now advance to their first ever HE cahmpionship game versus BU, winners
over Northeastern 5-2 in the early game.

Roloson made a doorstep save on Scott Malone off a feed from the corner and held
on th txx rebound with less than a minute to go and the Cjxx Chiefs clinging to a 3-2 lead.

Mike Murray scoreed an empty netter to seal the win.

UNH played the first 50 minute in an absolute fog going- get this- 0-12 on
powerplays. Down 3-0 on goals by Ed Campell , Christian Sbrocca (?), and Greg Bullock, the
Wildcats looked like a little league team on their breakouts and worse through the neutral zone.

But Tom Nolan scored on a breakaway to cut the lead, then Rob Donovan followed
with a backhand onetimer breaking UNH powerplay skid. UNH would come no closer as
Roloson gave the Wildcates one shot and one shot only covering everything in sitexxx sight.

        Hockey East misc.
        - Boston Garden was no more than 50% of capacity. The crowd however was able
to do a little improv singing the national anthem impromptu when the PA system failed
and the slated singer could not be heard.

-The name of Nonni Daly, former Hockey East asst. commisghoner, who resigned
when Maine was originally banned from the tourney, was whited out on each and
every press pass.
