Arizona 4
ND State 3

I thought I had seen my last hockey game for quite some time when I moved to
Arizona. But, lo and behold when I moved to Tucson to attend UArizona, the
school has a club team, the IceCats. Maybe it is not Division I, but when the
nearest live Div I action is more than a day's drive away, the IceCats greatly
fill in that hockey void.

6700 people were on hand last night to see Arizona take on the Bison of North
Dakota State. All the scoring took place in the middle of the second period.
When the dust (ok, there is no dust) cleared, Arizona led with a 4-3 score.
The IceCats had to withstand a furious assault by the Bison towards the end of
the game with ND State utilizing a sixth skater but the 'Cats held on to the
victory.

I believe that Arizona is undefeated at 10-0 as they take on the Bison in a
second game tonight. The Bison are currently 6-2 and are ranked #1 (for now).
Offhand, I do not know what Arizona's rank is in the top 10. All I know is
that 6700 people last night were given a real treat in such an exciting game
to watch. Time after time, Arizona would come down the ice on a breakaway
only to be stonewalled by ND State's goalie #33 (sorry, don't know the name.)
The goalie definitely kept them in the game with some really spectacular
saves, some at point blank range. He could not get them all, though...

I wonder if anyone on HOCKEY-L might be able to give me some background on
hockey at the club level (what leagues there are, rankings, etc.) I am very
unfamiliar with it and would deeply appreciate some help.
