In defense of Maine, let me provide another example. Joe Juneau entered RPI
with very little knowledge of English (note: I don't know him personally but
this is what I've been told). He graduated in 3 years with a degree in Aero-
nautical Engr. He added a master's in the same time that his classmates were
getting their bachelor's.
Without further information we don't know anything about Latendresse's read-
iness for college. Let's give him the benefit of the doubt.
