The Wisconsin-CC game was pretty close through the first two periods. The
Badgers scored first on a power play with 7 minutes left in the first, but CC
came back later on a power play of their own to tie it at 1. Wisconsin got
another goal before the end of the period to lead it 2-1. Early in the second,
CC tied it again at 2, but later the Badgers pulled ahead again on amother
power play goal to lead 3-2. Then in the middle of the third, the Tiger
goaltending blew it and allowed 2 quick Badger goals in 2 minutes to give them
the lead at 5-2. With less than two minutes left in the game, the Tigers got
one of those goals back, but then after a faceoff with Badalich pulled, one of
the Tigers tripped over his own skates and allowed a Badger empty-net goal to
complete the scoring at 6-3. I was impressed with the way Wisconsin was able
to play so well tonight with all those players missing for suspension. Jim
Carey had an excellent game and good defensemen in front of him. Once again,
unfortunately, goaltending was the Tigers weak spot tonight and it cost the
game for them. Box coming tomorrow.
