JEFF GRANT EARNS ECAC NORTHEAST HONOR AGAIN

CAPE COD, MA– Junior forward Jeff Grant (Burlington, MA/Austin Prep) of the University of Massachusetts Dartmouth’s hockey team has been honored for his performance last week.

Grant has been named Eastern College Athletic Conference Northeast Player of the Week. It’s the second week in a row that Grant has been honored, and the third time this year he has earned the award.

Grant had a hand in seven of the eight goals scored by the Corsairs last week, scoring two goals and adding five assists. He scored a goal and added three assists in a 5-4 win against Johnson & Wales, and scored once and assisted twice in Saturday’s 3-2 win at Nichols that allowed UMass Dartmouth to clinch second place in the ECAC Northeast. He now has 67 goals and 73 assists for 140 points in 105 games, and ranks 14th all time on the Corsair scoring list.

Currently, he is second among Eastern College Athletic Conference Northeast players with nine power play goals, and is tied for second in the conference with 16 goals.

“Jeff Grant has continued his offensive dominance, scoring eight goals and adding eight assists for 16 points during our current five-game winning streak,” said UMass Dartmouth Head Coach John Rolli. “The fact that he has been selected as the ECAC Northeast Player of the Week in each of the last two weeks of this season underscores his role on our team.”

The Corsairs are 15-8-1, 13-3-0 in the ECAC Northeast. They will return to action when they host a first round ECAC Northeast playoff game Saturday afternoon.
