A proposal raised at a University of Massachusetts Board of Trustees athletics subcommittee meeting jeopardizes Massachusetts-Lowell's future in Hockey East.

Though a proposal from just one trustee, it came from the chair of the Board of Trustees, Stephen Tocco. The proposal immediately drew criticism from other trustees and member of the Mass.-Lowell community, according to the Lowell Sun.
