Interesting observation:

I suspect that I'm not alone in my logic about this year: I entered the
lottery after "winning" the previous 3 years almost certain that I would
not attend this year (and knowing if I did want to attend because "my
team" were in it, I could get tickets through my athletic department),
to keep up my priority for Milwaukee next year. (emphasis added)

We enter the lottery each year to preserve our space for two reasons.
One, if UNH is there, it is the only way we will get tickets. Our
Athletics Department adopted a policy a few years ago that we UNH fans
are on our own once the Hockey East quarterfinals are over. To go to
the Fleet for HE semis and championship games, we go to Ticketmaster.
To go to the Regionals, we go to Ticketmaster. To go to the Frozen
Four, we stay in the lottery.

And Two, we just like college hockey. We came very close to deciding
not to go this year, but realized we would really miss it if we didn't
go. Granted, watching on TV affords you all the scintillating
commentary and instant replays, but it ain't like being there. I will
be incredibly disappointed if the Schott isn't filled with screaming
WCHA fans....
