Hear, Hear. Cheering for our own should be the primary directive.
Cheering for good college hockey next in line, regardless of where it's
played.
In addition to dropping the EZAC, the NC$$ thing is really, really,
really, really OLD. It's not clever any more, it's just OLD and
irritating. Not to mention the sophomoric "PH" instead of an "F".
However, I may disagree slightly with Tom on four teams from the same
conference being bad, or at least not good, for showcasing college
hockey. This is also a partial reply to an earlier post about recruiting.
The WCHA has EARNED another "conference" championship and I'm all for
it. It's Final Five was ALL ranked, all five were in the playoffs and
four made it to the Frozen Four. As a HE fan, I'm disappointed there is
no HE team representing the conference in the FF.
This will be a boon for recruiting for the WCHA, as if it needed it. The
best teams, with the best shot of going to the NCAAs each year get the
best recruits. I'm a Maine fan. At least one of our recruits publicly
says every year he came to Maine to play in the NCAAs and have a shot at
a national championship.
I have great admiration for the WCHA and will be thrilled to watch some
great college hockey during the FF. I watched their Final Five and had a
wonderful time because it was great college hockey. I believe this will
somewhat offset what could be a negative of all four teams playing in
the FF from the same conference.
