I wanted to take a moment to thank all of the alumni that have taken the
time to express their concerns about NCAA Proposal #65. Your support and
thoughtfulness in this process have made it easier for all of the schools
involved
I cannot believe that with all the issues facing the student body of RPI that
hockey is all that important. For all the people on this list that call the
NCAA - NC$$- they should be happy that university presidents want to purge the
cancer of D1 and scholarships from elite academic institutions. RPI could
always go D1 and play at the Patriot League level if that is what they want to do.
I do not believe in grandfathering special privileges. Why isn't a woman
swimmer just as worthy of special treatment? Either you are in all the way (and
frankly the Patriot protocol is an easy way to solve the dilemma and raise RPI's
profile in sports that are much more widely followed than ECAC hockey) or
just play D3.
