Saturday night's 1-0 win by the Big Red over Harvard was a historic one,
and not just because, in their seventh home game of the season, they
finally managed their first home win. Goaltender David McKee, a bit
maligned in some circles seemingly for no other reason than that he isn't
David LeNeveu, became the first goaltender in Cornell history to shut out
the arch-rival Crimson in front of the home folks. The only other shutout
ever recorded by Cornell over Harvard came in December of 1967 at Harvard,
courtesy of Ken Dryden.
If you must know, Harvard has shut out Cornell 10 times, with six of them
coming prior to the formation of the ECAC.
Thanks to Greg Berge, whose excellent TBRW site
(http://members.cox.net/tbrw/) was the source of this information and is
quite a resource for those interested in Cornell hockey history.

a lone man, facing single-handedly, a half a ton of angry pot roast."
