From the PRI SID:

Rensselaer Polytechnic Institute (RPI) and Dartmouth College scored
goals
eight seconds apart and the two teams were held off the board otherwise,
skating to a 1-1 tie in an Eastern College Athletic Conference (ECAC)
Division I men's hockey game before 2,995 fans at the Houston Field
House
in Troy, N.Y.

After two scoreless periods in which both goalies made 24 saves,
including
20 in the second period by Rensselaer's Nathan Marsters, the teams
struck
once each within eight seconds seven minutes into the third period. The
Engineers got on the board first when junior defenseman Matt McNeely
scored
on a backhander from the left side of the crease at 6:12 of the final
period. For McNeely, the goal was his second of the season. Dartmouth
sophomore Eric Przepiorka tied the game just eight seconds later when he
took the ensuing faceoff and ripped a slap shot past Marsters for his
first
of the year.

Marsters, a senior, finished with 30 saves, including four in overtime,
while junior Dan Yacey stopped 28 shots, including one as the buzzer
sounded at the end of overtime.

With the tie, the Engineers are now 4-3-2 overall and 2-1-1 in the
ECAC. They are now 4-1-2 in their last seven games. The Big Green, who
tied Union, 1-1, last night, are now 2-1-3 overall and 1-0-3 in the
league.

Rensselaer is back home for a pair of non-league games against
nationally-ranked St. Cloud State next Friday and Saturday
nights. Dartmouth returns to action next weekend when they travel to
Yale
and Princeton for two ECAC games.
