Hello All,

By now you all know about the ill-conceived NCAA proposal to eliminate
D-III schools from offering scholarships at the D-I level in one
designated sport. I urge all of you to sign the petition, big schools or
little school. In fact, the signatures from the unaffected schools are
likely to carry at least as much weight.

Also if any of you have connections to a D-I lacrosse or volleyball
listserve/chatlist, please tell them. Besides the 5 hockey schools there
are 7 others affected including the storied lacrosse program at JHopkins.

I am wondering if this is somehow due to a feeling the new president,
ironically Myles Brand RPI '64, to make the NCAA more pure? Talk about
the ultimate oxymoron.
