If Michigan and Michigan State end up tied, Michigan State will receive the #1 seed in the conference tournament if Northern Michigan takes 3 or 4 points from Lake Superior. Otherwise Michigan will receive the #1 seed in the event of a tie. Both teams will be "conference champions", but the team receiving the #1 seed will get the trophy.
It is spelled out here:

Subject: CCHA Tiebreakers
Michigan and Michigan State are currently tied for first place in the
CCHA with 38 points each and two games remaining, and they tied both
of their head-to-head league games. Can someone who knows the CCHA
tiebreakers (Glen Keeney?) fill me in: who would win the regular
season title if both teams sweep this weekend?
Thanks,
