TIM WATTERS STEPS DOWN AS HOCKEY COACH AT MICHIGAN TECH
Former Minnesota-Duluth Coach Mike Sertich To Take Over Reigns

Houghton, Mich. -- Tim Watters, who has guided the Michigan
Tech men's ice hockey program for the past four-plus seasons, will
step down as head coach of the program immediately it was mutually
agreed upon today by Watters and MTU Athletic Director Rick Yeo.
Former Minnesota-Duluth Coach Mike Sertich, who guided the
Bulldogs for 18 seasons and four times was named Western Collegiate
Hockey Association Coach of the Year, will take over the program for
the remainder of the season.
A news conference introducing Sertich will be conducted
Wednesday (Nov. 8) at 2 p.m. in the Begg Conference Room of the Grant
Hockey Educational Center.
"We're most appreciative of all the efforts put forth by
Tim," said Yeo. "Tim is a good man, and unfortunately things just
didn't work out the way either of us had hoped.
"We're very fortunate to have Mike Sertich step in. Mike is a
first-class guy who has a lot to offer."
Yeo said Sertich will finish the remainder of the season and
a national search for a permanent replacement will take place during
the season. Assistant coaches Peter Wilkinson and Marc Boxer remain
in place.
