Actually, the worst RPI could do is 9th. With 2 games left, Union is
2.5 games behind Yale for 9th place. Thus, the best Union could do
is 10th, making it impossible for RPI to finish below 10th. Not that
that's any consolation for RPI.....
 
Spots 3 through 9 are pretty much up for grabs. All 4 teams currently
tied for 3rd (pending the Cornell-Dartmouth result this afternoon) could
potentially finish 9th. Colgate trails St. Lawrence by 1.5 games for first
place and Union leads Brown by half a game for the final playoff spot.
 
And who says the ECAC isn't competitive?   ;-)
