LaRue had the choice to play hockey (walk-on) as well as football
(scholarship) last fall, and declined the former. Maybe he will change his
mind and compete for the starting goaltending job for a longer stretch of
time. Hauser just has to learn to control rebounds (oddly most are off his glove).

As for the "wrong goalie" your're looking in the wrong spot. Minnesota's
defense, as in "included among his saves were eight point-blank shots", is
what is wrong. North Dakota skated around, over, and through the Gopher
defense in the semifinal game. It is team defense that Woog does not coach
(take out Crowley and when has the U had good defense, and was Crowley a team defender?)

Besides, Woog always claims the reason HE never wins the NCAA title is that
HIS Minnesota-only policy prevents him from recruiting good goalies. Wake up
you bespeckled midget, you had the only Hobey Baker winning goalie and still
couldn't do it. Without his no-goalie excuse, Woog would be stripped naked
revealing his coaching inadequacies. (Sorry, what an ugly visual that is).
Personal responsibility for shortcomings is not a Woog strong suit.
