I didn't see the article. LaRue probably played against Pederson his entire
youth career (including pre-high school and high school.) He was in Minnetonka
and Pederson was Bloomington Jefferson. They also played on a league together
formed by Pagel's Dad that traveled around Europe every summer. I believe they
were called the Blades. LaRue was Minnetonka's top goalie! He played behind
Notre Dame's Brian Urick and Joe Dusbabek,and  Rico Pagel of the Gophers! He
participated in several USA hockey camps and Team Minnesota! That's just
hockey! He's certainly no underachiever athletically!
 
The error regarding age must have been a misprint!
