I read the article and had a very hard time understanding the "sponsorship
trends" item.
 
This was kind of disappointing but I do understand where the NCAA is coming
from on a % of teams basis.
 
I guess my idea would be to consider proposing 14 teams next year and see if
that works (with 4 more MAAC teams coming to the D1 ranks soon (American
International, Sacred Heart, Bentley, Mercyhurst) plus Alabama-Huntsville
and surely a team or two I am forgetting, I would think the 14 teams would
keep one at a passable % threshold (25% range).  (I'd still prefer 16).
