This is what I currently show for tie-breakers and playoff formats for
each of the 4 Div I conferences.
The ECAC changed their format this year to something similar to what
the WCHA has used. The WCHA has invited Mankato State to participate
in the WCHA tournment this year. No changes have been made in either
the HE or CCHA to the best of my knowledge.
Note that the tie-break criteria ranges through convoluted, ambiguous
and various other discriptors. I would appreciate any corrections.
I look upon Bill Fenwick as the ultimate authority of the ECAC calculations.
In some years the ECAC can figure out the seedings in time to have a
tournament. Others have contributed information over the years

Anyway, here it is -

HE "More than two" tiebreaker is incomplete and inconclusive; unclear whether
tiebreakers refer to only conference games.
ECAC Confirmation: Bill Fenwick (&Farenell,[log in to unmask])

([log in to unmask] via Pam Sweeney [log in to unmask] Dec 1995)
WCHA Home Page! Doug Spencer, WCHA Public Relations Director
a. if two or more teams are tied, head to head competition during the
regular season will be used to break the tie
b. if two or more teams are still tied after (a), the highest seed will go
to the team with the most WCHA wins during the regular season
c. if two or more teams played a four-game series during the regular season
and the teams have the same win-loss records for these series and the same
number of WCHA wins, the team having the least number of goals scored against
it in the four-game series shall have the higher rank
d. if two or more tied teams are still tied after a, b, and c, the team
having the greatest winning margin during the regular season will have the
higher rank; winning margin = WCHA goals for minus WCHA goals against
e. games played against WCHA opponents in holiday tournaments shall not be
  counted in the above determinations.
