You are correct.  Another important year to remember would be 1983-84, the
last year the Gophers missed the NCAA tournament.  Amazingly, that team
went 27-11-2, which I doubt this team will do.
 
Maybe having all those games with a tremendous amount of shots and nothing
to show for the effort is catching up to the team.
