My understanding is that a team is only entitled to the Alaska/Hawaii
exemption once every 2 (or maybe 4) years. However, the limit is waived for
"regularly scheduled league games". Thus, Red Berensen likes to bring
Michigan to UAF every year, partly as a "hardening" and team-building trip,
and partly to get 2 extra games a season. I believe that these are
generally scheduled as home contests at Yost and provide significant
revenue for the hockey program.
