UND has very little trouble taking care of the Dawgs in Grand Forks.
Before the game was played the NCAA championship banner was dropped (not
literally, of course) and a roar from the sell-out crowd followed.

The game itself was full of penalties and stopages. The first period saw
the Sioux not using their speed and quickness and instead playing along
with the UMD game plan. The second finally saw what everyone had been
waiting for, SPEED and transition. This lead to five goals and some great
plays by the line of Panzer and Panzer (sounds like a law firm) and for
all purposes put the game out of reach. The highlight of the night was
when Karl Goehring made an incredible save and then sent it up the ice
where Brad Defauw scored his first goal of the year.

Oh...also:

- The scary part about UND is they didn't play 60 minutes of great hockey
(more like 20 SUPERB, 25 great and 15 so-so) but still won the game by 8
goals. If it had not been for some of Goehring's great saves, the score
could have been 8-4. The small defensive lapses are eventually going to
cost the Sioux.

-More problems on the power play for UND. I don't know if they are the
lowest in the league, but this has to be the top priority for the team
(at least the penalty kill is great).

-Look for a goalie rotation when Schwietzer is back (at least at first).
