Teams Gearing Up for 1997-98 Season
	A trio of ECAC teams will play exhibition games this weekend as
the start of the ECAC Womenıs Ice Hockey League is right around the
corner.  Cornell opens the season on November 1 against RIT.  Cornell is
one of those teams in exhibition action this weekend as is Princeton and
St. Lawrence.  In addition a collection of ECAC All-Stars will face the
USA Womenıs National Team on Tuesday, October 21 at 7:00 pm at Talbot Rink
in Gloucester, Massachusetts.
 
Cornell Plays Two
	The Big Red play a pair of exhibition games this weekend as it
faces the Ottawa National Capitals on Saturday, October 25 at 2:00 pm and
then faces the Scarborough Sharks the following day at 2:00 pm.
	Cornell returns 10 letterwinners from a team that posted a 13-15-1 mark last season including an 11-10-1 record in ECAC play.  The Big Red advanced to the ECAC playoffs before losing to Providence 3-1 in the opening round.
 
Saints at Home
	St. Lawrence will play host to the Ottawa Intermediates on Sunday,
October 26 at 1:00 pm.  The Saints have just five letterwinners back from
last season when St. Lawrence posted a 7-19-0 mark.
 
Tigers host Caps
	Princeton will faceoff against the Washington Jr. Caps at Hobey
Baker Rink on Sunday, October 25 at noon.  The Tigers return 16
letterwinners from last yearıs team which posted a 13-16-0 mark and a
12-10-0 ECAC record.  The Tigers advanced to the ECAC Playoffs before
falling to New Hampshire 5-4 in overtime.
 
USA National Team
	A team of ECAC All-Stars will battle the USA National Team on
Tuesday, October 21.  Money raised will be used for improvement of the
cityıs athletic programs as part of the townıs 375th anniversary.  Players
from Yale, Brown, Northeastern, Providence and Boston College and Harvard
will make up the second ECAC All-Star team.  For ticket information

	A crowd of over 1,700 fans helped raise $12,000 for a lockerroom
expansion at Everett Arena as an ECAC All-Star team battled the USA
National Team in the first exhibition game in Concord, New Hampshire on
October 18.  The USA National Team posted a 10-1 victory in its
preparation for the 1998 Winter Olympics.
