What I was thinking was that they couldn't get any closer to saying
'maize' than using both yellow and gold as examples(-: While I'm aware
that the 'normal' away uniforms are dark blue, Michigan has worn the
gold jerseys as the visiting team, not only at Joe Louis, but down here
at OSU and in every play-off game I've seen them in (which is almost all
of them). The reason I thought that U of M fans might be upset is if
Michigan is prevented from wearing them at the Joe and/or in play-off
games when they are considered the visiting team---the gold jerseys have
been a staple for every game Michigan has played either in the Joe or in
the play-offs (whether they're considered 'home' _or_ 'visiting' team)
since they got the jerseys and seem to be quite popular with the fans.
I'm also aware that a lot of teams have 'special' jerseys (Ohio
State's are black---very sharp), but they're normally dark and not worn
when the team is considered the 'home' team. Hey, but if it's no
biggie, it's no biggie.
