Mike Machnik makes an important point that I feel deserves
more emphasis: any influence that "strength of conference" has on the
outcome of TCHCR is purely the result of "links" between "nodes"
(teams) in the 45-node graph that have been forged by games played
between the teams in question.  In other words, strength of conference
is something that "comes out in the wash," so to speak --- its reflection
in TCHCR is not the result of pre-ordination or judgment calls by
anybody.
