Maine beat Calgary, 5-0, to take the Bruce McNall Cup as the winner of the
Great Western Freezeout. Jean-Yves Roy had 2-2--4 and was named tourney
MVP. Randy Olson, Jim Montgomery, and Scott Pellerin also scored for Maine
which had three PPGs. Roy now joins Team Canada for the Spengler Cup. He
will be joined by Calgary goalie Ferguson who played stupendously to keep
his team in the game despite their being outshot something like 45-13. Maine
is now 13-1-0 and will face another Canadian team, Toronto, in the first
round of the Badger Tourney which also features Wisconsin and Yale.

MSU beat Waterloo in the consolation, I don't know the score. Dwayne Norris
had 3-1--4 for MSU. MSU will play MTU in the GLI next week and then will
face either Harvard or Michigan.

BU beat Dartmouth in nonconference play, 9-2. BU outshot the Big Green by a
52-18 margin, including 23-7 in the third period. Both teams could meet
again in a week at the Auld Lang Syne Classic; BU-Vermont and UNH-Dart are
the first round matchups.
