Then why have the (written) rule - unless you can come up with a scenario that a
power play isn't an advantage?
 
I'll throw in my .02 now:
 
I believe that this "tactic" is actually a carefully thought out strategy on
Schafer's part.  He has decided that Cornell should play all the time with a
slight "disadvantage" (legal sticks) in order that they can gain a relatively
large advantage (extra power plays) when really needed.
 
Furthermore, I have no sympathy for UVM on this one.  I believe that this was
the fourth game that Schafer has used this rule in his two seasons at Cornell.
If the UVM coaches want to be mad at someone, it should be themselves for not
being alert.
