        The Flames had failed to score 5 on 3 and finally mounted an attack.
        Lacher went out to block Smiley's shot, and Zdan slammed the loose
        puck into the net.

        The finish of several good attacks by UIC.

   The rest of the period was a good defensive and offensive effort by UIC.
