In a nationally televised game, Clarkson and RPI battled to an
intense 2-2 draw.
 
The Engineers roared out to an early 2-0 lead on the strength of 3 or
4 first period power plays but Clarkson made it 2-1 late. Chris Lipsett
tied the game early in the second period but there was no scoring after
that. Clarkson had several good chances in OT but either just missed
or were denied by RPI goalie Mike Tamburro. After a shaky start, Clarkson
goalie Dan Murphy was fabulous in goal and finished with 43 saves on
the night. He kept the Knights in the game, particularly in the 2nd
period.
