Eric,
As a fan of college hockey, you know that in almost ANY game, the refs seem
to play a major role in the outcome - a blown call or no call.  Saturday
night was no exception.  Case in point - the Gophers last two (power play)
goals came off of two week penalty calls on the Badgers.  Especially in
light of the fact that Badgers were dropping like flies and not a single
wistle was heard.
 
The bottom line, though, is that it does not seem outrageous to expect some
level of competence from college hockey refs.  I guess we can always dream!
