While reading the sports section of the Chicago Tribune this morning I saw
an article about a new Ken Burns project. He is the fellow who put together
the documentaries on the Civil War and Baseball on PBS.

Well, he has done one on hockey. According to the article it is a 33 hour
series that is to be shown on PBS. The series will run over the next four
weeks. It will show, and I quote " the earliest days of the game in the
mid-1800s through the beginning of Lord Stanley's Cup and into the greatest
dynasty in hockey, the Montreal Canadians".

The series will also explore other facets of the game and the people who
played and play it.

I've seen bits-and-pieces of his other series, and if this is anything like
them it will be interesting.

Either way, at 33 hours its a lot of recording on the "old" VCR.

I will check my TV guide tonight to see when the series actually starts and
post that information tomorrow.
