Northeastern beat Union on Saturday night, 4-2, in Boston. Union was
holding onto a 1-0 lead after 2 despite being badly outshot and mostly
outplayed. Union's only goal to that point came with a 5-on-3
advantage, and they were outshot 20-8. The Huskies' offense came
alive in the third, taking advantage of some poor Union defense to
spoil what had been a nice performance in goal by Kris Mayotte, who
finished with 30 saves on 33 shots (last goal into an empty net).
Union falls back to the .500 mark overall at 7-7-3. They now break
for Christmas, and return to action with a visit to Minnesota-Duluth
on December 28 and 29. After that, it's nothing but ECAC games the
rest of the way.
